Live Page Templates with PHP
I’ve come up with a somewhat odd (but awesome) approach to templates for my static HTML pages that makes authoring/maintenance trivial and allowed for functional offline copies.

May 22, 2008Crazy MySQLFor whatever reason the mysqld_safe process on my machine ran away and took over pretty much the entire CPU for days. I eventually had to kill it with extreme prejudice and restart it and now my CPU load is back where it should be for a totally unused server. I wonder what was going on there? Odd. It makes for a cool graph though March 23, 2006New Blog / Again…Ok. So Mike is laughing at me now that I’m changing my website back to wordpress again. It all comes down to I’m getting lazy in my old age and would rather not have to SSH to my server, run vi to add a new blog entry, and then run the site update script which takes about 3min (due to DreamHosts rather slow NFS shares). Having a fancy web based editor such as wordpress is just faster. That and flickr can automagically post to it. However this time I took some time integrating it with my website and I’m rather pleased with the results. I still have to add links to a lot of the old content that was only linked to on the homepage (which is now gone) but that shouldn’t take much time. Unfortunately I just didn’t have the motivation to import comments yet so… |
