Clamptite Clamping Tool
Just thought I’d mention a very clever tool I’ve become rather fond of. The Clamptite Tool is a little device that makes building custom clamps (think hose clamps) trivial.
Basically you wrap whatever needs to be clamped in a loop or two of steel wire and then attach this tool and turn the butterfly nut on the end. This pulls the wire tight (and it can be really tight) and then with a quick twist and a couple snips with the side cutters and you are done. I’m sure that didn’t make much sense. If you are interested read the website as it has some good descriptions, instructions and uses for this device.
I’ve used it for attaching all sorts of things around the house. When I bought it I figured it would be handy once in a while but, now that I have it, new uses seem to spring up all over the place.
